Booted out of the UN in order to clear a seat for the People's Republic of China in the 1970s, Taiwan labors under a number of heavy disadvantages, including poor resource endowment and lack of diplomatic recognition by nearly every country in the world. And yet, this island of barely 20 million population has risen to stand among the world's 10 or 11 leading trading powers. Well worth watching!
